The performance of timber fire doors is assessed by subjecting them to a standard test procedure as specified in BS 476- 22: 1987 or BS EN 1634-1: 2014
Tests are carried out on complete door assemblies – i.e. the fire door and doorframe with all the requisite hardware (locks, latches, hinges and seals).
Small differences in detail, such as glazing, intumescent strips, door frames and ironmongery, may significantly affect the fire rating
